The time that Burroughs spent living in Tangier burroughx greatly influential in the development of his writing style and subject matter and so it is fitting that Interzone is the title of this excellent collection of his early short stories. Although the story as it appears here in Interzone is a copy from memory of the original, it is still the most complete version of the original that was written by Burroughs and Elvins after they were inspired by hearing about the sinking of the ship the Morro Castle.
Spooky at times, weird at times, hillarious at times, gotta love it. It is a book comprised of a bunch of his short stories and I loved everyone of them, especially “A Junky’s Christmas”, it is now one of my favorite Christmas stories.

Naked Lunch is populated by hallucinations, the Nova Trilogy by anxieties; the final novels are populated by ghosts. There are no discussion topics on this book yet. There are revealing points of sentiment, especially his repeated sorrows about the death of Joan his wife, killed accidentally by his hand in a drunken game of William Telland his admission that he was subject to erratic compassion, and although sometimes cold could not endure the suffering of a child; he ruthlessly expunged sentimentality in his published work.
