And perhaps if the author had let the story work itself out organically around the basic premise of a contract relationship, and see how the characters could have fallen in love from there, the story would have worked better for me.
I didn’t mind the way Tyson and Lynay were brought together to start the novel, they were both decent characters and development of the relationship wasn’t exactly bad, but it just fell flat for me. Her problem is that she too is jaded about relationships, because of how badly her son’s father treated or should I say mistreated her.
