I don’t know whether it’s because it was written by an artist, but it is without a doubt the most painterly novel I’ve ever read. While most of the new characters introduced in this book are decently put together – the Professors as a corps, and to some extent as individuals, some, such as this special one, seem more like afterthoughts.

The glass of it lay scattered on the floor. This was probably the wrong way to approach the book. Although being one of the most important characters in the series we are not given much of her in this book. I had no idea what to expect, except that I was expecting a lot.
