I feel awful for Kernel with his eyes too – this story doesn’t shy away from brutalizing its characters. The memory stores all that happens. Grubbs appears to be resigned to this but instead blinds Kernel, preventing him from patching lights together to reach the Old Creature.

Out of the Demonata series Kernel is my favourite and it was good to finally have another book written in his perspective. I love the Demonata series, but Dark Calling was kind of a disappointment. We have this fantastical element introduced of other worlds and leading space aliens and Dempnata Old Ones or whatever, which should be sort of interesting in itself, but it got a little boring.

This book built the plot with elements completely out of left field aliens? In many books, authors usually on describe the important parts of the details. It ties into the big bang end of the series and wraps up a lot of plo I did a weird thing and reviewed these out of order, and then waited too long to review it.

It went from fighting demons, to talking about different dimensions and aliens.
